Role:

As a Web Product Manager, you will lead the transformation of their current website from a simple front-end tool into a full e-commerce platform with high levels of customization based on customer value proposition. You will also be responsible to build the first version of the customer portal. As part of the website work, you will be working very closely with the marketing team to understand the suggested improvements and lead their definition and implementation.

The company is a customer centric company and as such, their customers are paramount to everything we do. As a Web Product Manager, you will lead customer interviews to understand whether the new developments will be successful to ensure the highest rate of success which translates into higher and better conversions.

As a company, we follow the Lean Start-up approach and as a result, we will be working on delivering MVPs, experimenting, measuring and learning in order to deliver value to our customers on an ongoing basis.

Some of the products we will be developing in 2018 include the following:

  • Online e-commerce journey
  • Customer portal
  • Engineer apps
  • Fulfilment platform
  • Price estimation tools

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Lead the improvements of the website’s customer journeys to increase conversion and user engagement
  • Work closely with one of the founders and the CMO to prioritise, define and implement the changes to the website and e-commerce journeys
  • Gather requirements and suggestions across business units to improve our front-end website
  • Organise customer feedback sessions and lead customer interviews to understand the effectiveness of the suggested changes
  • Prepare detailed product roadmaps
  • Groom the backlog and ensure all new requirements and features are well defined
  • Coordinate the definition of the requirements across functional team such as UI and UX
  • Lead the implementation of the changes across tech teams
  • Determine customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product changes
  • Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products
  • Provide source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, scrum masters and other product managers
  • Be the visible advocate for your products internally and externally

Key Skills/Qualifications for the role

  • 4+ years of experience as Product Manager in the digital space
  • Excellent organisation skills to define and follow processes and steps to ensure a timely delivery of features and changes across tech products
  • Experience working with UX teams to gather feedback and customer insights
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to coordinate product and feature deliveries across business units
  • Experience leading e-commerce platforms across design and technical implementations
  • Good understanding of best practices on increasing conversion rate and engagement metrics for website
  • Experience running customer interviews to gather insights and translate them into requirements
  • Great listening skills to understand customers and decipher and interpret their needs
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  • Deep understanding of web technology and e-Commerce
  • Work on multiple projects, prioritize workload and thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams to drive the implementation of new features as well as resolve operational issues
  • Strong influencing skills, including experience working within a large matrix organization
  • Familiar with Agile development methodologies
