Product / UX Designer

Posted 3 July by TUI in the UK

Reporting in to the Senior Digital Product Manager, the Product/UX Designer will solve design problems every day by incorporating the needs of the user with the objectives of the business. You will help to evolve the customer experience across all our touch points both online and within mobile app projects. The Product/UX Designer will be working on a variety of design challenges and will be involved in early stage research and ideation, implementation and iteration.

The Product/UX Designer will be joining Crystal Ski during an exciting period of innovation, and with our customers becoming more aware of the availability of choice, the ability to promote and position the user to the forefront of our decision making is key to the role.

What you will be doing

As Product/UX Designer you will know the importance of user research and customer intelligence and be able to extract customer problems from them. You will provide user experience, design and innovation direction on projects that create a credible user experience. This is a busy and varied role where you get to work with stakeholders at all levels to champion both UX and UCD on the website and the Crystal Ski app.

You can sketch, ideate, and generate new concepts quickly based on stakeholder direction and self-driven research ensuring consistency and continuity across projects and channels.
You strive to design flows and experiences that not only solve problems in creative and innovative ways, but are incredibly simple and elegant at the same time.
You understand design within an agile setting, and consistently ensure that assets are delivered both on time and in a format that is easy for the team to understand (wireframes, user stories, user journeys, interactive mockups, hi-fi designs etc.)
You are familiar with the strengths and limitations of both Web and Mobile. You enjoy contributing to decisions with the rest of the product, marketing and delivery teams.

You will ensure that new or changing functionality on the site is designed and defined with the user at the forefront by producing specifications through wireframing and/or prototypes. Working with Front End and Back End Developers will be key to ensuring a great user experience. You will work with front end teams to define and create original, on-brand and visually attractive design solutions. With the back end team you will ensure that the proposed UX is feasible and that the technical design and architecture support it, defining processes with them to ensure development is aligned to the user experience

With a passion for ecommerce you will regularly monitor developments in E-Commerce, web interactivity and competitor websites and recommend enhancements to Web Platform and native apps. You will build your own knowledge of latest web technologies and user centred design through online and offline research, attending events and sharing knowledge with the other web teams around the business.
