At Bravissimo our purpose is to inspire big boobed women to feel confident and amazing. When it comes to our products we are continuously amazed by our wonderful customers who have helped us to influence an industry, push boundaries and design and produce products that some said could never be made. We are a dynamic multi-channel retailer, offering lingerie, swimwear and clothing to fit and flatter women who are a D-L cup. Bravissimo started in lingerie, but in 2001 we launched our first clothing product - the strappy top! We continue to design our collection to fit and flatter our customers. We now have a range of swimwear, nightwear and clothing, all focused on providing a great fit solution for women with bigger boobs.
As a company, over the last 22 years we have experienced some substantial growth and we are now a £50 million-pound turnover business, with 28 stores across the UK as well as a well-established e-commerce operation. We continue to believe in and focus on our purpose which has resulted in the growth of our e-commerce into the USA and further store openings in the UK. We are also very passionate about our people, and we have been in the Times Top 100 Places to Work for the last 11 years.
We are looking for a Product Buyer & Analyst to work on our swim, nightwear and strappy top categories. Reporting to the Product Manager, you should have a real desire to do a job which makes a difference to the way bigger boobed women feel. This is a broad role in which you will be required to use commerciality and a passion for product in partnership with your analytical mind to make the best selection of products, focusing on offering great choice and size availability for our customers.
This is a very analytical role and you will work with our historical information and customer knowledge to understand patterns that exist within the data, and use this to support decisions made on these categories. You will take full ownership for selecting the branded side of the range and providing insight to the own brand buyer and developer, working on all ranges to ensure the right choice is made from a commercial and size perspective. You will also advise the supply planning team on how much of each style and size to buy for products within these categories.
Selecting swim, nightwear and strappy tops for our branded range is much more difficult than you may think, because the only things our customers have in common is their bigger boobs. Swimwear will be a major part of this role where print and colour are critical. As well as using data, you should also have a creative vision to enable you to identify key looks for the future. This often means getting hands on and gathering feedback on fit, shape and appeal, as well as analysing and interpreting data and customer information to understand what is and isn’t working. As a key contact for our branded suppliers, you will work collaboratively as a brand ambassador to share this information so our customers have a voice with our external suppliers.
You must enjoy and be good at both creative and analytical challenges, and be able and comfortable to switch between the two constantly throughout each day. To be successful in this role, numbers should be your second language. When analysing data, you should be able to pull our patterns and trends that support the decisions you make. You will also have a creative flair that allows you to think differently and be guided by our customer’s needs, not necessarily by fashion or current trends.
You should be from product background, ideally with exposure to both buying and merchandising. You may be from a smaller organisation where your role has been very broad, or you may have gained experience of these areas from different positions. What is important is that you have experienced the analytical and creative elements required in this role.
The sector of your experience is not as important to us as your mindset and learning agility. You could be working in clothing, footwear, tailoring, accessories or any other sector. Experience in swimwear would be advantageous but is not essential.
You will want to work across a broad remit, supporting the whole product development journey. You enjoy the buzz of a busy environment, and be someone who works positively with everyone in the team to get the job done. You’ll be a proactive and high energy individual who enjoys learning and communicates well internally and with our external suppliers. You should be educated to a degree level, ideally in a related discipline.
To apply for this position, please submit your CV along with a cover letter detailing why you would like this position and why you would like to work for Bravissimo, as well as your current salary, to the email address listed below.
