Summary

Here at the National Trust, our procurement spend is huge but it’s crucial that we’re spending money wisely, intelligently and sustainably. And that’s your challenge.

We’re a visitor attraction, a holiday provider, a retailer. We’re the nation’s largest private landowner, and one of its biggest catering operations. We might be a charity, but make no mistake; we have our fingers firmly on our financial pulse. We need to because every penny of our profit goes back into our work and gives us freedom to be even more creative in how we care for places and open them up to the hearts of the nation.

What it's like to work here

We’re bigger than you think, we’re more complicated than we appear and we’re larger scale than you’d imagine. We’ve got passionate people in all our teams, and we’ve got so much more we want to achieve. We’re for ever, for everyone and we really mean that. We don’t want to stop at 5.5 million members and we want everyone to feel welcome and enjoy access to our places, so we need to reach new audiences in ways that are meaningful and relevant to them without losing the hearts and minds of those that are already with us.

Our central head office, Heelis, is situated in Swindon, Wiltshire. We're well placed, with ample parking nearby, a shopping outlet with plenty of options for places to eat, and the town centre only a 10 minute walk away. Alternatively you can enjoy our open plan atrium space for lunch times, with our internal café available every day.

What you'll be doing

As a Procurement Support Specialist, you’ll be responsible for maintaining an expert understanding of the Trusts procurement systems and processes. You’ll be our procurement systems expert in the team, as well as managing processes to support E-sourcing, contract monitoring and purchase ordering systems. You’ll undertake data manipulation, analysis and insights from the systems to a high degree of accuracy.

You’ll also be supporting the Procurement Team in driving up quality, innovation and ensuring our sustainable / environmental standards are met, through helping to deliver the contract / supplier monitoring process. We’re committed to building long-term relationships with suppliers and sourcing goods and services ethically and, where possible, locally. Collaboration and supporting the management of contracts will sit at the heart of your role.

For more information on the role please read the role profile for further information.
