Your new role
Reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining a value for money purchasing service to all customers for a specific category of spend in line with public sector regulations to ensure business objectives are achieved. The Procurement Officer will proactively review and undertake global sourcing activities to improve on quality and pricing with a main target to reduce costs and improve procurement processes. The role is temporary with real scope to turn into a permanent contract
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your application you will need to have 2 years procurement/purchasing experience within the public sector. Covering compliance with the approved tender processes, providing support to an evaluation panel and maintenance of a register of contracts to ensure contracts are renewed. Furthermore, qualifications you will need are:
1. Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area.
2. GCSE English (Grade A*-C) or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Communication or equivalent
3. GCSE Mathematics (Grade A*-C) or Essential Level 2 (or higher) in Application of Number or equivalent
