Do you like a challenge where no two days are exactly the same? We are looking for a Purchasing & Contracts Officer to support a range of contracts and tenders under £5,000 values. A forward thinking, dynamic and successful organisation is recruiting for a Purchasing Officer to join their Procurement team for an initial period of 6 months. This is a band new role in the organisation and there is a strong possibility it will be made permanent. The categories are diverse to include HR, Facilities Management, Design and Simulation.

This role is based in Bristol and free on site parking is provided.

You will be responsible for working within a small team and liaising with stakeholders, identifying opportunities and ensuring customers comply with best practice purchasing guidelines and where applicable EU procurement regulations

You will be responsible for co-ordinating and managing tender processes; Interfacing with internal customers; managing contractual risk and liaising with the supplier base,

Duties:

¡ To assist in managing the day to day activities of the purchasing section including in the authorisation of Purchase Orders as delegated and authorisation of new suppliers

¡ To ensure that the purchase order system operates effectively and to support developments to improve system efficiency.

¡ To support the Procurement Manager and Procurement Category Leads with day to day purchasing administration tasks

¡ Capture purchasing requirements from 

¡ Draft Requests For Quotations (RFQs)

¡ Support staff with evaluation of quotations

¡ Raise requisitions (any value) and obtain relevant approvals

¡ Raise and firm POs (any value) on system

¡ Update the savings register to reflect savings achieved

¡ Assist the Procurement team with implementation of the ERP system

¡ Run reports for the Procurement team, from our business system for spend/cost analysis to support the category management and rationalisation

¡ To manage the Single Source Waiver (SSW) Register and issue SSWs to support Purchase Orders

¡ To manage the new supplier process and add new suppliers to the system

This role offers flexible working (core hours are 10am-2pm) as well as working from home.
