Procurement Officer in Belfast with negotiable salary
Your new company
You will be joining a newly merged public sector organisation based on the outskirts of Belfast that are continuously growing with new contracts secured for 2018 which has prompted their need to expand on an already successful procurement/development team. For this role, you would be on a temporary contract for initially 6 months to 1 year then made a permanent member of staff on a 37 hour working week with flexible hours.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the Procurement Manager on site, you will be responsible ensuring that all procurement activities are progressed in accordance with approved internal templates and maintain compliant records at all times for audit specifications. The Procurement Officer will assist with the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors using tendering, evaluation, placement and monitoring from e-procurement software. Also, you will liaise with various external professional bodies, review and draft procurement documentation whilst managing commercial risks to achieve enhanced efficiency and competitive advantage.
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience working within a successful procurement department will lead to success, preferably within the public sector or construction industry. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to maintain relationships with key contractors and suppliers across the UK and have knowledge of tendering processes in line with EU procurement regulations. Also, experience using e-procurement software or working towards CIPS qualification would be highly beneficial but not essential.
