Procurement Manager

Procurement supports our business to engage third parties and enables our business to manage them effectively. This includes not only traditional third party supplier arrangements but also includes support to put in place commercial arrangements with our key distribution partners for example.

This role will be to review be able to respond to supplier queries having reviewed the relevant contract, draft contract changes for review by Legal, and document key clauses which the business need to operate to.

There will be a high volume of queries which will need responding to and so need somebody able to work efficiently, quickly and see the value in what they are doing. Knowledge of IT category management in Procurement is desirable though not a primary skill set requirement. There is a particular emphasis on IT Software licence agreements with a variety of suppliers and complexity. Sector expertise is not restricted to FS / Insurance. Work location can be flexible though Reading or Paddington are desirable. They do not need to be legally qualified and the role could suit a returner where flexibility of office hours is desirable.

To be successful in this role you will hold the following preferred knowledge and experience:

  • Extensive contract knowledge
  • Strong category expertise in Applications, Infrastructure, IT Services and Digital providers in particular
  • Able to get in to the small details of supplier and contract negotiations and is very hands on.
  • Ability to handle multiple supplier negotiations at once.
  • Self-starter and able to work with limited direction.
  • Commercial negotiation skills and experience.
  • Understanding of project management.
