Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a Public Sector organisation in the North West to recruit an Interim Procurement Manager. It will initially be for 3 months however is likely to be extended due to a number of projects that will arise over the upcoming months.


  • Leading and delivering a number of IT projects, which will demonstrate and deliver value for money and innovation whilst meeting the needs of the organisation
  • Undertake quotations and tendering exercises ensuring adherence to financial instructions procurement regulations
  • Responsible for procurement and supply chain activities across the organisation whilst supporting the Head of Procurement in the development and delivery of the organisations procurement strategy
  • Provide sound procurement advice in-line with standing financial instructions and regulations to both internal procurement team members and staff across the organisation whilst engaging, building and maintaining strategic working relationships with both internal/external colleagues and suppliers
  • As a strong influencer and an experienced negotiator the post holder will pro-actively challenge current practices and strive to deliver continuous improvement, offering better experiences and outcomes through effective market testing of expenditure


  • Fully conversant procurement legislation/tendering processes & procedures
  • Experience of contract, stakeholder & supplier management and Oracle experience is preferable
  • Ideally full Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (MCIPS) qualification & Membership by examination but this is not essential
