Procurement Manager

Zeus Packaging Group are looking for an experienced procurement manager to join our team in the UK on a permanent basis

You will need to have experience managing a team in a dynamic environment. Knowledge of the packaging industry would be useful but is not essential. Proven management ability, high levels of commercial and contractual acumen and excellent communication skills are vital in making this role a success.

You will need to be able to provide evidence of a strong buying background and the ability to manage and mentor others as well as an outstanding capability to communicate effectively with colleagues and suppliers. Past experience of using a WMS system is critical

We now employ people all over the world at our sites in Ireland, UK, Northern Ireland, Germany, Spain, Poland, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and China. With group turnover in excess of €135 million Zeus are an industry leader in the supply of industrial, foodservice, hygiene, fashion and agricultural packaging.

We currently have 6 sites in the UK and will be opening a new purpose built facility in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire in 2018

This role will encompass many responsibilities including

Manage a team of buyers and stock controllers

Reporting directly to the UK General Manager

Develop and implement a procurement strategy for our UK business

Develop the current procurement team and supplement if required

Develop and maintain processes and procedures

Work with internal stakeholders across all UK sites and Zeus Group worldwide

Take lead to centralising sourcing function

Lead cost reduction exercises

Spearhead reductions in stockholding

Monitor and control customer specific stockholding

Develop supply agreements, Sla’s and KPi’s

Work with colleagues in Ireland and Europe on developing procurement strategy and supplier base across our group

Improve supplier base for Uk Business and develop strategic relationships globally

Help develop stock ranges and new innovation

Ensure supply chain stability

Bring new products/suppliers to the business

Educate the sales team on market development and new innovations

Help introduce and manage a WMS system

Salary £40-45,000
