PROCUREMENT MANAGER - FMCG
The main focus of the role is to mange the procurement of brought in goods for stock in line with the business needs, forecasts, customer demand and optimum stock holdings. It also includes the procurement of facilities requirements, energy and world wide freight.
Responsibility for the sourcing of bought-in products as specified.
Responsible for sourcing of new, differentiated or alternative products which may be new to market or provide a competitive advantage. Be able to anticipate the needs of the business. This will be achieved by having good market intelligence, knowledge of market trends and developments, knowledge of supplier capabilities enabled through very close supplier relationships and sourcing / developing new suppliers. Work with internal stake holders throughout the process to ensure maximum effectiveness,
Be accountable for the full product cycle from concept, through pricing and costing into development and packaging through to arrival on time and to specification and price.
Responsible for the purchase of worldwide transport, facilities, items not for resale and regulatory requirements.
Negotiating all aspects of the procurement process including price, specification, quantity, delivery and quality.
Maintaining accurate specifications of current products and ensuring that any new product lines are ready for issue prior to launch.
Creating and maintaining supplier files, price lists and recording and analysing of delivery records and supplier performance including reviewing KPI’s. Regular and routine report production/issuing as required.
Ensuring all existing and new suppliers are compliant with all relevant auditable requirements. The same applies to the product itself.
Responsibility for managing successful resolution of quality, service and pricing queries.
Maintaining stakeholder relationships including suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing, finance, costing departments and sales.
Responsibility for stock control of both finished goods & BOM components, across multiple companies within the business
Daily monitoring of stock and sales reports to determine any necessary actions.
Responsibility for ensuring effective development, planning and forecasting of deliveries in liaison with other internal departments within the company (which will assist in the forecasting of requirements) such as sales and with the warehouse for deliveries. Good communication at all points through the process.
The successful candidate for this role will have previous experience in dealing with overseas suppliers procuring goods as opposed to services
CIPS studier preferred but not essential
Excellent communication and analytical skills are required as well as Advanced Excel
Ideally you will have experience working with products in and FMCG environment
