About the role
The role is a Consultancy position at Consultant grade which sits within the Delivery business area of Capita Procurement Solutions. Engagements will vary, working across the public sector and a range of markets. Therefore, geographic locations and duration of specific engagements will also vary. The nature of each assignment will vary dependent on the contractual requirements but may include: Supporting Opportunity Assessment, Savings Delivery, Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Contract and Supplier Relationship Management, Transformation activities and Project Management. Engagements may include working across multiple categories of spend or require development in specific subject matter expertise. In addition to client delivery you will be a member of a Category Team supporting internal business development in areas such as product development, best practice and innovation, market shaping, knowledge sharing and sales opportunities.

What you will do:
Utilise tools and methodologies to support the delivery of procurement processes and projects and in support of transformation and change activities.
Undertake research and use shared knowledge of best practice to develop innovations that support the delivery of cost improvements and benefits to clients.
Develop effective working relationships with stakeholders escalate where support may be required to overcome challenging circumstances.
Responsible for delivering assigned workstreams within multiple projects simultaneously using defined methodologies. Responsibilities may also include undertaking PMO activities to support larger projects and programmes such as planning, reporting, maintaining project plans and risk logs.
Understand the process for conducting Opportunity Assessment Reviews and support the delivery of reviews through undertaking activities such as detailed data analysis, stakeholder interviews and report development.
Lead or support identification and delivery of savings initiatives across areas of project responsibility.
Follow engagement specific benefits realisation processes and ensure benefits are adequately identified and supported with strategies to deliver and or evidence that they can be achieved.
Deploy and administer contract management and SRM principles to deliver performance management initiatives on behalf of clients where applicable.
Identify and support conversion of opportunities for up-sell in client engagements and support the development of propositions and business cases.
Your experience will include:
Minimum degree level qualification, working towards MCIPS qualification or other relevant business qualification.
Demonstrates experience of delivering procurement projects (particularly from within the public sector) with some strategy development and supporting category management.
Experience of developing relationships and working with stakeholders and suppliers.
Demonstrates track record in supplier selection, negotiation, implementation and complex contract management delivering cost/ savings targets.
Some experience working in a complex and changing environment with demanding business objectives.
Has knowledge of sourcing across categories and industry sectors.
Is innovative, self-starter and results orientated as well as understands the "value-add" procurement professional.
Experienced in working in a matrix structures would be advantageous.
