Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist

I am currently recruiting for a Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist to work at my client, a leading public sector organisation based in Sheffield City Centre.

The Procurement and Supply Chain Team provide strategic leadership, direction, innovation and control across the full range of the commissioning, procurement, commercial, contract and supplier management activities in order to deliver value for money and efficiency improvements, whilst ensuring continuity and quality of supply.

In short you will work as part of a centralised procurement function managing over £500m of spend across a diverse range of categories including:
• Adult & Childrens Care
• Public Health
• Skills & Education
• Accommodation Based Care
• Business, Professional Service & IT
• Highways & Property
• Environmental, Transport & Operations

Taking on the role of Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist you will be supporting the Procurement & Supply Chain Managers working in the heart of a vibrant and dynamic Supply Chain Team.

The role will include the development of Procurement Strategies, Tender documentation and Commercial Contracts in accordance with the Council Standing Orders and Public Procurement Regulations.

Additional key supply chain activities will include Market Reviews, Benchmarking Exercises and Soft Market Testing.

This role is to start ASAP and is an 18 month secondment opportunity.
