Procurement Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity for development within a small and dynamic team who are continuing to grow and expand into EMEA. The successful candidate will be confident, analytical and with a keen eye for detail.

The Role: To assist and implement procurement strategies that will deliver measurable significant savings against current expenditure levels. You will be responsible for providing a quality service to all stakeholders, suppliers and customers ensuring procurement best practice and value for money is delivered.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To support the Group Head of Procurement in raising the profile of procurement within the international Group
  • To support the procurement team in analysing suppliers and expenditure
  • Provide relevant commercial training and education to stakeholders
  • To source, document and maintain reliable data to enable the effective implementation of category management techniques
  • Maintain the contracts database and supplier database for the Group
  • To embed new procurement processes and activities within the Group that are efficient and provide best value for the Group
  • Research and understand the supply market and evaluate opportunities and threats;
  • Ensure sustainable procurement is considered in all elements of the procurement service;
  • Ensure all products and services meet the correct compliance standards;
  • Negotiate with external suppliers for the provision of a diverse range of goods and services;
  • Deliver an SRM service for the Group with appropriate suppliers;
  • Undertake market analysis and evaluation of market trends and how these may be turned to the Group’s advantage;
  • Ensure high professional standards exist throughout the procurement service provided to the Group;
  • Support the Procurement and Operation teams in the acquisition, integration and demobilisation of sites and businesses;
  • To travel across the UK (or abroad) where required to provide a procurement service;

The Ideal Candidate will be:

  • Degree qualified or relevant experience
  • An excellent communicator with a positive outlook
  • Self-motivated, confident, driven, positive and flexible approach
  • Accuracy & attention to detail a pre-requisite
  • Confident with analysing data and summarising information to support decision making
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Able to present data and recommendations in a transparent and succinct manner
  • Understands sustainable procurement agenda
  • Able to work as part of a team and interface with all levels of stakeholders and suppliers;
  • Able to effectively promote the Group’s interests in meetings with stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Strong working knowledge of category management
  • Able to negotiate supply agreements beneficial to the Group
  • Working knowledge of the Waste Management or Healthcare Sector
  • An understanding of UK contract law and legal terms and liabilities associated with supply agreements
  • Member of CIPS or working towards;
  • Over 3 years’ experience in a procurement role
  • Proven record of continuous learning
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Willingness to travel UK & Oversees
