A key support role that’s different every day
This is very wide-ranging role within a busy section of our procurement team. In the space of a single day, you could be doing everything from processing purchase orders to compiling data for monthly management information reporting to getting involved in mini competition work. A significant portion of your time will be focused on suppliers, whether you are supporting them through the purchasing process, handling day-to-day enquiries or playing an active role in reviewing supplier performance..
Take your purchasing skills to the next level
You must have some purchasing and procurement experience, however basic. This should include experience of working with suppliers, giving you the skills and confidence you need to deal with them effectively and challenge them if required. You will also be dealing with people throughout FCO Services, including members of senior management, so good communication skills are absolutely essential.
Given the diverse nature of this role, you’ll need to be a highly organised person with the ability to prioritise your own workload. IT literacy is also important, including experience of creating spreadsheets and manipulating data.
