Private Client Legal Secretary

We are looking for two experienced Legal Secretaries with Private Client (wills and probate) experience to join their expanding team.

We have two roles with this client, one is for someone with 1 to 2 years’ experience upwards and the other one is for someone with some paralegal experience as well. Our client will offer career progression and the possibility of doing legal exams, if desired.

Hours of work: 9.30 to 5.30

Main duties for the Private Client (Wills & Probate) Secretary

  • Prime role is to provide direct support to the Private Client department
  • Dealing with wills and probate, affairs of individual clients and trustees, planning and managing all aspects of their finances, onshore and offshore trusts and tax matters. Also, some legal support for charities
  • Diary management - arrange appointments and meetings and to maintain diaries for the department
  • Document production - accurate, presentable, digital dictation, filing, manage database, photocopying and postal duties
  • Audio typing of wills, probate documents and letters to clients
  • Dealing with wills, PLA’s, small estates and Court of Protection
  • Provide assistance, if necessary with work overload in other departments, cover staff absences, sickness, holidays and reception
  • Client services - meet and greet, provide refreshments and provide a professional and friendly support to clients
  • Ensure confidentiality at all times
  • Receive telephone messages, direct calls, complete notes and record on file

Person specification for the Private Client (Wills & Probate) Secretary

  • Excellent ICT skills including Microsoft Office package
  • Typing speed of at least 65 wpm
