Rate of Pay: £7.50p
*Experience gained within a reprographics/service environment.
*Previous experience of working in a customer-facing environment.
*Experience with multiple operating systems desirable (i.e. Mac, PC etc)
*Knowledge of various types of print and finishing systems.
* Experience in operating high volume networked systems*
* Knowledge of or experience with Microsoft Office and image editing.
*Operate printing and finishing equipment used in the Print Room to achieve the requested output and to the required quality standard.
*Be proficient in the use of Scanning facilities to obtain digital files from hard copy master material. Organising these and electronic data files received via CD-ROM, floppy disc, site network or e-mail and sending them to the print machine's control computer.
*Manipulate electronic files sent from a customer to achieve the required page layout and balance. This can involve adjusting image size, cropping image, adjusting proportion and position of elements in a composite image.
*Set up and operate machines to accommodate the size, thickness and surface characteristics of the required stock (paper, card, etc). Ensuring the job is printed on appropriate stock and adjusting the machines accordingly.
*Use computer controls to define the output and make adjustments, as found necessary, to compensate for inadequacies in the input and/or machine variations in performance.
*Undertake basic fault rectification and maintenance.
*Review your own activities with the aim of achieving continuous improvement.
*In support of your department, provide and apply your skills and knowledge to discharge tasks and projects effectively and efficiently.
