Based in North Wales and due to continued expansion and strong pipeline of exciting projects this consultancy have a new vacancy for an ambitious Principal Structural Engineer. The Role

With the North West base the role is to manage a team of Structural Engineers in the successful delivery of projects across the UK. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the efficient and timely delivery of Structural Engineering solutions, producing accurate design calculations and drawings/models, for clients who continue to return to the company.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and driven individual with a strong desire to help the company to grow. You will have a proven track record of project delivery for repeat clients and have the following attributes or equivalent:

- A degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (or equivalent qualification)

- Chartered Structural Engineer (CEng MIStructE) or approaching Chartered status

- Up to date CPD records with a focus on the latest technological advances

- Experience of working in a BIM environment

- Revit literate (ability to produce Revit models would be advantageous)

- AutoCAD literate (ability to produce CAD drawings would be advantageous)

- Proficient in the use of structural design software in addition to hand calculations and spreadsheets

- Expert knowledge of structural engineering codes of practice, British Standards and Eurocodes

- Proven design completed in all main structural materials; concrete, steel, timber, masonry

- Knowledge of fatigue would be advantageous

- Ability to manage resources effectively and identify resourcing 

- Ability to represent the company at meetings with clients, contractors, design teams etc
