Working with the Principal Occupational Therapist and Practice Development Lead to transform the council's approach to staff development using the principles of the Workforce Race Equality Standard Southwark Stand Together. As we enter a crucial stage in recovery from the pandemic, you will be embedding a strength based culture across ASC to meet the needs of our residents, and deliver our workforce for the future, championing social work across the council and local and national partners.This role will lead the council's response in preparing for the implementation of the Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS) as prescribed in the Mental Capacity (Amendment) Act 2019. Working with national and regional peers to set out local policy implementation. Ensuring the wider work relating to the Council's systems, processes, relevant policies and procedures for LPS, are flexible and in keeping with the principles and spirit of the Mental Capacity Act and recent amendments.About You:We are looking for a candidate with: A social worker qualification and current registration A proven track record of strategic leadership and ability to engage diverse stakeholder in a range of settings Substantial experience and knowledge of current social work practice, and ability to understand the political agenda and translate this into local implementation Extensive knowledge of Adult Safeguarding and the Mental Capacity Act The strategic ability to lead transformation and champion new ways of workingBenefits: Strategic Managers annual leave entitlement starts at 33 days, plus bank holidays. In addition to the basic salary the post attracts a JNC financial benefits package of £2,724 per annum (pro-rata April - March).The basic working hours for this role is 36 per week.
