3 month interim contract
£200 - £300 per day inside IR35 (via umbrella)

Baltimore consulting is currently working with a Yorkshire local authority's Adult's social care service who are looking to expand their community offering to older people. They are introducing a specialist community unit and are looking for a Principal Occupational Therapist to provide expertise and guidance to the public through functional assessments.

The Principal Occupational Therapist will drive the set up of this new service which will aim to relieve the existing pressures on the high assessment referrals to the integrated Occupational Therapy service. This will be an initial 3 month interim contract with scope to extend dependent upon the recruitment process.

As the Principal Occupational Therapist you will be directly responsible for a Telecare officer and 3/4 customer assistants.

Principal Occupational Therapist duties will include:

  • operational management of new centre within the independent living service.
  • drive the creation of this function working alongside senior social care management team to agreed project timescales
  • Support with the search and selection of the permanent post holder
  • offer guidance and support to the public to relieve the pressure on the integrated OT services. You will not complete full assessments but will share details/refer to the OT service as needed.
  • provide training around moving/manual handling to the team
  • manage KPIs and performance.

Essential experience for Principal Occupational Therapist:

• Recent operational experience as an occupational therapist local authority setting
• qualified occupational therapist
• skills in training and development
• Experience in integrated partnership working
• Ability to identity staff development and training needs and manage KPIs
