Principal Geotechnical Engineer- Durham

An exceptional opportunity has presented itself for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our client's team who specialise in Site Investigation, Contaminated Land Assessment, Geotechnical Engineering and Geo-Environmental Engineering. The role will include taking the lead on exciting projects across the UK, ensuring a high level of quality is delivered with an adherence to budget. The successful candidate will be able to work independently as well as with staff from across multi-disciplines. The candidate must have a strong academic background, with Chartered status or enthusiasm to achieve Chartership.

Key Skills and Experience required:

  • Suitable candidates will have a degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geo-environmental Engineering, Geology, Engineering Geology, or another relevant subject
  • A post graduate degree in the relevant field
  • Chartered or working towards Chartership with an up to date CSCS card (Preferably Site Supervisor)
  • Experience of designing, operating, and managing DoWCoP processes & projects
  • Proven experience of working in a Senior role in an Engineering Consultancy environment and experience of Project Management
  • Exceptional communication skills to liaise with all parties involved in each project
  • Clean Driving Licence and UK Residency

Typical Duties in this role:

  • Design and implement Contaminated Land Site Investigations within a timeframe and budget
  • Establish strong relationships with contractors, colleagues, experts, and regulators across the industry
  • Maintain the company's Health and Safety requirements to ensure the safest environment at all times
  • Provide Geotechnical advice for large- and small-scale projects, including remediation and site investigations
  • Work professionally within the company and client expectations, aiding the managing director to deliver the agreed outcomes
  • Manage the components of the project which you have responsibility for, including implementing sustainable solutions, report writing and meeting requirements
  • Undertake all other reasonable duties as requested
