Principal Developer – Smart Tech, OCR, ICR, Smartform and Workflow Automation

Are you interested in innovative solutions across financial services?  Do you like to automate processes to make things better, faster and cheaper?  Do you like staying ahead of the curve and being part of a rapidly advancing solution architecture to solve real business problems?   Would you enjoy working with millions of images to automate the extraction of information, or Optical & Intelligent Character Recognition (OCR/ICR) technologies, while marrying them with machine learning components to enhance the straight-through processing rates of an operation?   Do you like the sound of the word ‘robotics’?  Do you enjoy researching and staying current on new technologies, participating in vendor selection exercises and continually growing?

Do you like to focus on a series of stated business goals and solving problems with the best solution architecture by choosing the best tool in your toolbox, as opposed to being restricted to one single solution? If you are a problem solver with an entrepreneurial mind-set, this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for where new technologies like RPA, Machine Learning, OCR/ICR, ETL, Cognitive Computing and Autonomics are being pioneered for the company.

We are looking for people with a technical mindset or even Software Developers to join our Smart Technologies team, where you will be able to use your skills to help create interesting products, from very large sets, of current, and historical documents, to building out new robotic process automation solutions. If working in a small agile development team while being able to work with a variety of technologies to acquire, create, enhance, and deliver various content types sounds interesting to you, please apply.

The Performance Excellence & Continuous Process Improvement Department within our CSD (Client Service Delivery) group is an exciting team of business reengineering professionals sitting alongside a team of core technologists dedicated to a commitment of excellence to our clients. Our team is growing, and we need senior technologists to help shape the direction of the team. We hold a high bar and expect developers to create solutions that are modular, re-useable, scalable, and supportable.

The successful candidate to this position will first and foremost be a creative thinker, well grounded in Object Oriented software development, and have an entrepreneurial mind-set focused on automation projects that will aim to mimic human interaction on a document or system and can capture, interpret and process transactions across multiple digital systems making processes run better, faster and more efficient by:

-eliminating non-value-added work and risky UDT’s (user-defined technology solutions).

-Increasing scalability and flexibility with greater accuracy, ensuring a zero defect environment.

-eliminating swivel-chair integration between 2 systems (e.g., copy-paste functions that transfer data from one-system to another due to a lack of a formal interface)

-automating and improving manual and rule-based, repetitive, computer-based tasks.

Experience in Architecting a solution using multiple technologies is needed.

S/He will work within the team and with other internal business groups.

S/he will be able to represent the technology at the most basic level, as well as synthesize design choices to decision-makers.

S/He will provide transparency in all things and open and honest feedback to managers and teammates alike.

In this role you'll be a critical member of a fast-paced cross-functional startup team and must thrive in a high energy, time-constrained, multitasking environment.

We are seeking an engineer with advanced experience in computer vision, embedded systems, machine learning, and possibly mobile development.

-Apply machine learning to multi-sensor data including images

-Design, develop, and test computer vision algorithms for applications.

-Perform software design, coding, integration and testing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, experience in software development required.

Requires knowledge of computer science fundamentals, object oriented programming techniques, and the software development life cycle, as we develop solid repeatable solutions.

Looking for experience with OCR – Optical Character Recognition, ICR – Intelligent Character Recognition, Machine learning, Workflow development and/or Smart forms.

Training will be provided, however, a core foundation in automating processes, regardless of the technique or solutions leveraged in the past, and an aptitude to explore new solutions is the cornerstone for what we are looking for.
