Principal Calibration Engineer

Our Client, one of the world's leading automotive consultancies are looking for a Principal Calibration Engineer to be based at their Northampton facility.

What you will do

As a Principal Calibration Engineer you will work on assignments with high level of responsibility and be responsible for:

  • Leading, planning and supervising engine Calibration programs
  • Conducting detailed analysis of test results
  • Preparing technical reports, presentations and papers
  • Supervising project teams either individually or work under the direction of a project manager
  • Liaising with customers and program suppliers
  • Contributing to technical capability of the thermodynamic department
  • Developing commercial quotations, and conducting business development activities when required
  • Line management responsibilities for up to 2 engineers



What you will need/have:

  • An Engineering Degree or HND
  • Professional qualifications as appropriate
  • Skills and Experience
  • Relevant industry experience
  • Experience in both gasoline and diesel fuels desirable (and/or alternative fuels)
  • Considerable relevant experience in the field of automotive calibration development
  • Experienced in MS Office, combustion measurement systems, Concerto and Matlab Competencies
  • Ability to work on own and as part of a team
  • Confidence to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Self-motivated with the drive to complete tasks in a timely manner with appropriate attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to strict time constraints
  • Flexibility with working hours and willingness to travel to customer sites
