Principal Arboricultural Consultant
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Salary: up to £42,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent Contract, Full-Time 37 hours per week

Place Services is a traded service of Essex County Council, providing multi-disciplinary solutions to local authority and private sector clients. The success of our commercial practice means we are now looking for a resourceful, confident and professional tree specialist to grow and develop the arboricultural part of the business.
You will have overall responsibility for arboriculture within Place Services, managing a team of six consultants and juniors, under the direction of the Natural Environment Manager. You will have the opportunity to lead the team on a wide range of exciting projects focused on tree risk surveys, BS5837 surveys (both client side and on behalf of Local Planning Authorities), tree inventories, policy development, and the delivery of sustainable development.
We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Principal Arboricultural Consultant with a minimum of seven years' consultancy experience and strong account management and bid-writing skills. All applicants should be Professional members of the Arboricultural Association and or Full members of the Institute of Chartered Foresters, with evidence of continued personal development and the ability to respond pragmatically and creatively to challenging deadlines and a varied workload.
