Primary Teaching Assistant

Carterton based role

September Start - £83.33 - £90 per day

KS1 - Key Stage 1

Carterton is the home to an inclusive Primary school, they are searching for a Primary Teaching Assistant to join them this term in their Key Stage 1 (KS1) class. This is a two-form entry Carterton primary school graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. The Head Teacher is searching for a graduate to join them on a long-term basis as soon as possible. They ideally would like to meet teaching assistants who have previous experience working with children, ideally in a school setting. Many of the West Oxfordshire Primary Students have SEND/SEN/SENCO needs, ranging for challenging behaviours, difficult home lives, ASD and ADHD.

£83 - £90 per day!

Primary Teaching Assistant requirements:

  • Enhanced child DBS (Mandatory)
  • Experience working with KS1/ children aged 5 - 11 years old or young people with additional care needs (SEN)
  • Experience with behaviours that are challenging
  • A calm & caring personality
  • A strong and resilient personality and commitment to pupil's development
  • Reading, writing, numeracy and communication skills
  • Team Teach trained (desirable)

Desirable qualifications:

  • Degree 2:2 and higher - Childcare, Education, Psychology, Criminology, Sociology or STEM subjects.
  • HTLA/NQV Level 2/3 Childcare/EYFS experience
