Provide Education are seeking a Key Stage 2 (KS2) Teacher to lead intervention work in a primary school in Sheffield, for 6 weeks beginning in January 2021. This role focuses on boosting the literacy skills of KS2 students, teaching small groups of 10 children at a time. The Teacher we are looking for must be strong and confident enough to guide Year 5 and Year 6 students into success in their SATs.
About the Role:
This is an intervention role which will involve teaching small groups of KS2 students. The focus is on improving their literacy skills. The school seeks a teacher who can improve the confidence of students, and someone who will inspire the students with a love for learning. The intent of this role is to not only improve the futures of these children, but also the happiness of them now. Thus, the desired candidate must be inspiring, confident, and aspirational, which will reflect on the students. This is a 6 week full-time position, which includes a 2-day paid training course to provide the necessary guidance for the role.
The Desired Candidate Must Have:
- The relevant teacher qualifications including Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous experience teaching KS2 primary students
- Confidence in teaching Year 5 and 6 and preparing them for SATs
- Excellent curriculum knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong literacy skills and the ability to teach it in the highest standard
- Confident in intervention work in small groups
- A recent DBS that is on the update service or be prepared to undertake a new DBS with Provide Education
