We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Intervention Teaching Assistant to join our client, a Primary School in Sunderland. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with special educational needs (SEN) and help them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Intervention Support: Provide targeted interventions to support the learning and development of students with special needs.
- Classroom Assistance: Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
- Individual and Group Work: Work closely with students on a one-on-one basis and in small groups to address their specific needs.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and report on student progress, adapting interventions as necessary to meet individual goals.
- Resource Preparation: Develop and prepare educational materials tailored to the needs of SEN students.
- Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and address any challenges promptly and effectively.
- Parental Engagement: Communicate regularly with parents and carers, providing updates on student progress and strategies to support learning at home.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.

About You:
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special needs support.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
