The Leadership and Lifelong Learning Team in the east of England is part of the People Directorate within NHS England and Improvement. The aim of the team is to deliver outstanding leader development, at all levels across the healthcare workforce in support of the NHS People Plan.

The team works with our colleagues nationally and our stakeholders across the east of England region to provide opportunities to participate in high impact, high quality development which supports transformation. We pride ourselves on the relationships we hold and continue to build with our stakeholders – the candidate we are looking for will be confident building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of individuals, teams, and system organisations across the region and nationally.

We are looking for a proactive and forward thinking professional to join our team as our Primary Care Programme Manager. This role is pivotal in developing inclusive leadership in primary care, ensuring the successful development of primary care networks, and improving outcomes for patients. The role will be responsible for work assigned to the Primary Care Leadership Development Programme. In particular, effectively managing resources to deliver a portfolio of work set out in the Primary Care workstream by the NHS Leadership Academy.

This is a varied role which requires particular knowledge and understanding of the primary care context and leadership development strategies. The post holder will define best practice in consideration of short and long term goals, document processes as they are agreed, and oversee their delivery. You would benefit from exceptional communication and partnership working skills developed in a complex working environment, and should have experience managing and developing a team.
