Primary Care Link/Liaison Worker RMN, Band 6

Due to significant new funding in Somerset we are setting up a new Primary Care Mental Health Liaison Service and looking for enthusiastic Mental Health Nurses (RMN) to join us.

This is a genuine opportunity to contribute to developing this new service and make a big difference to people in Somerset, ensuring they have easier and quicker access to support when they need it.

We are looking for Primary Mental Health Link Workers who are passionate about developing mental health services. You’ll be providing rapid access to specialist mental health expertise to GPs and Primary Care staff, ensuring that patients have their mental health needs more clearly assessed, defined and cared for.

Your support will mean that primary care professionals will be able to deal more effectively with a range of mental health problems and therefore make sure patients get support as early as possible. For most people this will mean remaining within Primary Care, but for some, there will be a smooth transfer into Somerset Foundation Trust secondary mental health services.

Excellent communication skills are important as you will need to work collaboratively with secondary care and voluntary sector colleagues to promote recovery focused approaches.

All team members will be supported in their ongoing professional development through an induction and training programme.

This is a new role which is part of an exciting transformation of mental health services in Somerset following a bid to secure an additional £13mil of funding. This is a great opportunity to be involved in our transformational journey in a beautiful part of the country.

Interviews are due to take place week commencing 5 October 2020 (exact date TBC)
