Presales Solution Architect (DRaaS/Disaster Recovery, Backup)

My client is a major player within DRaaS and due to naturally growth are looking for a Presales Solution Architect to join a highly successful team.

As the Presales Solution Architect you’ll be responsible for supporting the Sales Team & Project Team by playing a key role to helping to acquire new business and growing current customer accounts throughout the UK region. Support will include technical design and pricing of customer application solutions, assisting in customer presentations, discovery and definition of customer requirements, approving all contracted sales from an application and engineering standpoint, and interfacing with operations personnel to ensure a smooth hand-off of all sales orders.


  • Support a group of sales representatives as assigned
  • Build and present demos providing solutions to customers
  • Define Proofs of Concept (POCs) for customers and ensure successful outcomes
  • Ensure accurate pricing and configuration of complex sales proposals
  • Ensure that your assigned sales team maximizes quota attainment
  • Ensure complete discovery and definition of customer application requirements
  • Architect services to meet customer requirements by providing high-level architectural diagrams
  • Participate at tradeshows and other customer or partner events by demoing solutions
  • Assist in providing ongoing training to internal sales team
  • Act as an interface with Product Management & Marketing for new product and service definition
  • Promote the professional growth of the team, continually pursuing opportunities for personal career/training development


  • 2 or more years’ experience in Pre-Sales Engineering
  • Experience within Disaster Recovery As A Service (DRaaS)
  • Experience in the design of IP network solutions (Cisco or similar)
  • Experience with VMware/Virtualisation
  • Experience in three or more of the following technologies: Network Operations and Design, Security Analysis and Operations, IaaS, Backup & Recovery, Disaster Recovery, Server Operating Systems, Load Balancing, Storage, and/or VMware
  • Strong customer interfacing skills, being able to translate business requirements
  • Proven track record of establishing and solidifying strategic relationships with key customers and partners, while representing suites of complex IT services solutions
