Pre-Sales Consultant - Cyber Security

This client-facing role is responsible for understanding customer security requirements, mapping to relevant internal service providers, specifically relating to IT security.

Working 50% at customer sites and 50% in-house, the purpose of the role is to engage with customers and showcase the company's expertise. This will involve effective internal liaison with both sales and operational support teams within the company. Post-engagement there will be ongoing opportunities to present reports issued to the customer, as well as be involved with technical feedback sessions with customers.

Security Pre-Sales Consultant Requirements:

  • Solid technical background, ideally with F5, Pulse, Symantec web proxy or forcepoint web proxy experience
  • 5 years' experience in Information Technology field, with the majority of experience in security
  • At least two years' experience as a Pre-Sales Consultant
  • Proven ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people
  • Unix, Windows and networking security skills
  • Familiarity with general application and network security concepts
  • Understanding of development frameworks
  • Broad understanding of hosting / cloud environment
  • Understanding of security defence mechanisms as well as SIEM systems
  • Excellent teaming and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Security Auditing tools
  • Understanding of commercial concepts applicable to the sales process, e.g. budget cycles, pricing
  • Project management principles
  • IT related degree or certificate
  • One of the industry leading qualifications is preferable (CISA, CIMA, CEH, OSCP, CEH, CISSP)

Security Pre-Sales Consultant Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the sales team with revenue generation activities through strategic contributions to proposals, tender presentations and proof of concept demonstrations
  • Perform scoping of engagements to ensure we understand the requirements of our customers and map to relevant services
  • Identify cross Group product and service opportunities with sales team for customers
  • Present our service output and recommendations and findings post project completion
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of sales collateral
  • Represent the Group at conference events, forums or training events
  • Demonstrate the ability to be a knowledgeable technical security industry expert with internal sales training, internal presentations, and industry contributions via Group electronic means
