Location: Central London - within easy access via Train, Bus and car with car park
Salary: £30,000 - £37,000 per annum / £15.38 - £18.97 per hour based on 37.5 hours per week. (Negotiable DOE / Including London Weighting & No Unsocial Hours )
Bonus: Annual bonus provided.
Hours: Full Time - 37.5
Contract Type: Permanent

Further Details about the role: I am looking to recruit a Lead Registered Nurse who will take the post within the Pre-Assessment unit. The successful post holder will be designated to take charge of the department in the absence of the Matron and Pre-Assessment Unit Sister. You will be required to efficiently and effectively assess a patients' suitability for safe admission identifying any anaesthetic risk factors and managing patient expectations of their hospital stay, during the preoperative assessment and discharge home. You will be collaborating with the medical staff to ensure that the patient is medically cleared for surgery thereby reducing the number of patient cancellations. To ensure, through appropriate delegation to nurses and health care assistants, that evidence-based care is provided to agreed standards within the unit in accordance with hospital policy and procedures. To give concise, relevant verbal and written reports to ensure effective communication with the General Practitioner, Consultant, Anaesthetist and any other members of the multi-disciplinary team, regarding the outcome of consultations and the necessary follow up required. To assist the Unit sister with the organisation and day to day management of the Unit.
Person Specification: I am looking for the successful applicant for this Lead Registered Nurse within Pre-Assessments to possess experience within Pre-Assessment and be an effective team leader. To apply for this role you must hold a valid NMC PIN with no restrictions and a clear DBS check. The usual pattern of work is Monday to Friday. Proficient at calculating drug doses. Ability to present articulate reasoned discussion. Ability to problem solve. Evidence of personal and professional development. Up to date sound clinical knowledge.
