Practitioner Psychologist Clinical or Counselling

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologists to work with children and young people and their families in the Paediatric Oncology multidisciplinary team at the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales. Both posts are fixed term until August 2021. Funding has been secured between Cardiff and Vale UHB and LATCH – The Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity. LATCH supports children and their families who are being treated by the Paediatric Oncology Unit at the Children’s Hospital of Wales. You will join a dynamic team of child psychologists in Child Health Psychology who sit within the Child Development and Health Psychology Service in Cardiff and Vale UHB. Regular supervision, joint working and training are key aspects of the service.

The department enjoys a good relationship with the wider psychology community and South Wales Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology. The service is committed to supporting staff in their continuing professional development and specialist interests. You will make a significant contribution until August 2021 to the ongoing development of psychological services within Paediatric Oncology that are provided for children, young people and their families with regard to assessment, treatment and consultation, development, behaviour and emotional wellbeing; and will play a key role in service audit and future development of the posts. You will promote service initiatives, take a major role in enhancing multi-disciplinary team work and developing links with the wider Paediatric Oncology network

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
