Practice Manager

A boutique accountancy firm are looking to recruit a Practice Manager to join their team. This is a newly created role for an experienced Office Manager to come on board and help to relieve the burden of work the Directors are currently undertaking.

As Practice Manager you will be responsible for the smooth, efficient and cost effective management of the company's staff, space and facilities.

Job Specification:

Facilities Management

  • Manage all central services, including utilities, repairs, security, reception, archiving, cleaning, catering and recycling
  • Manage regular office checks (PAT, fire safety, alarm testing etc.)
  • Liaise and negotiate all office related contract services including equipment lease agreements, IT & telecoms providers, insurance renewals, cleaning, office stationery
  • Manage and provide support to the receptionist
  • Manage the coordination of internal moves and changes, including office layouts
  • Maintain good landlord/tenant relationships, and liaise with the building managing agent for any issues
  • Arrange passes, keys and fobs for new members of staff
  • Maintain all relevant compliance. Ensure the office is safe and tidy and act as designated Health and Safety representative


  • Manage the relationship with the outsourced IT provider
  • Ensure all software licences are up to date
  • Order IT & Telecoms equipment, as required
  • Have a good knowledge of the company's IT security standards, procedures and policies and enforce them
  • Be first point of call for IT & Telecoms queries
  • Assist in identifying user training needs and help to develop solutions
  • Provide support with the implementation of IT projects, for example the HR database, the company's website, giving particular consideration to GDPR.
  • Project manage the implementation of a paperless office system

Office Management

  • Manage petty cash and the office safe
  • Liaise with the company's Fee Protection insurers and deal with all claims and renewals
  • Oversee the operation of the company's Money Laundering Regulations

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Office management experience, at-least 2 years
  • Experience in HR would be an advantage
  • Experience within an accountancy firm would be an advantage
