The postholder will be responsible for leadership of a multidisciplinary addiction service offering treatment for drug misuse for residents of Aberdeen City. The services works in close collaboration with Primary Care services as part of a shared care model. In addition it operates a specialist Secondary Care service. It is supported by a large multidisciplinary team and there are 2 other Addiction Consultants employed in NHS Grampian with responsibility for Alcohol Services and Aberdeenshire/Moray Addiction Services.
There is a full range of specialist services including General Adult Psychiatry, Old Age Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, Liaison Psychiatry, and Psychotherapy. The service has fully accredited schemes for Basic and Higher Training in Psychiatry.
