Roles and responsibilities

A senior account manager offers consultative support to accounts and fills the gap between account manager and account director. This person has a strong understanding of the media landscape, can develop strategies for clients alongside account directors and acts as quality control.

¨ Managing a team - Supervising and motivating account executives/account managers to get the best results and to keep momentum in line with deliverables. Show awareness of resourcing levels/time sheets and flag any issues regarding clients and time with management team.

¨ Creating plans and setting objectives - Working with clients to create realistic targets and managing expectations.

¨ Drafting high-quality content - Fully capable of turning their hand to any type of content, and can amend and improve content in order to get better results.

¨ Proofing - Offering a higher level of proofing above spelling and grammar, showing awareness of the target audience and the value of the content.

¨ Pitching news and content to target media - Demonstrate pitching skills by being involved with top tier pitches in particular.

¨ Overseeing the planning and execution of events - Working with the team to ensure a smoothly run and well thought out event.

¨ Damage limitation - Getting amendments made and handling disgruntled journalists.

¨ Reporting - Ensuring reporting is all-encompassing and answers objectives/KPIs.

¨ Meeting preparation - To lead meeting, ensuring that the meeting is well organised and the team is fully briefed on meeting contents.

¨ New business - Take a lead role in presentations and coming up with creative ideas. Identify ways to grow retained clients with projects.

Outside of these roles, you will be invited to have creative input into campaigns and should look for areas to go above and beyond.
