About the role:

This is a newly created role at Crowe Clark Whitehill. As part of a fast paced communications team, the PR and Social Media Executive will play a key role in driving awareness of the Crowe Clark Whitehill brand and its thought leaders. Regular travel to offices outside London is required. Responsibilities include:

Media relations

  • Raising the profile of the firm and our five strategic sector groups: not for profit, corporate business, private clients, pension funds, professional practices
  • Working with senior stakeholders and wider sector teams to plan and execute multi-channel thought leadership and PR campaigns
  • Generating press coverage: writing effective press releases, media alerts and statements for national, trade, newswire and broadcast press
  • Working with the marketing, communications and web teams to coordinate the creation of digital content (for the website and intranet) to complement wider PR campaigns
  • Identifying comment opportunities; acting as a challenger to partners, generating ideas
  • Coordinating stories across national, regional and international audiences
  • Responding to media queries and proactively pitching to journalists
  • Reviewing and proofreading articles
  • Drafting by-lined articles
  • Maintaining the Gorkana media database and reporting on journalist activity on a monthly basis
  • Working with the Communications Executive to monitor and report on impact of PR campaigns
  • Coordinating media training for partners.

Social Media

  • Contributing to social media plans in line with PR priorities and target audiences
  • Using the news agenda to share ideas for social media activity
  • Ensuring all PR and social media campaigns are aligned to wider brand communication activities

  • Engaging with journalists and publications through social media where appropriate

  • Championing social media best practice in line with the firm’s strategy and policy

Desired skills

  • An experienced PR professional with established journalist contacts in the national and broadcast areas is essential

  • A natural writer with a good eye for a story, with proven track record of gaining press coverage

  • A confident communicator who can work with stakeholders of all levels

  • A good understanding of digital communication trends is desired, but not essential.
