About the role
We are looking for a PPMO Team Lead to join the Programme and Project Management Offices in the Change Portfolio Centre of Excellence. This is an exciting role that is involved with our most complex major investments, managing relationships with business unit stakeholders and ensuring project support requirements are met. You’ll ensure that all aspects of programme and project delivery are supported to ensure on time and on budget delivery, and will collate, analyse and report on the activities, milestones and risks associated with the delivery of Programmes and Projects.
This is a hands-on role in which you will implement Group Portfolio Management Office guidelines, procedures and templates to collect and maintain consistent data and provide delivery support to a programme or project. Working closely with the programme/project manager you’ll look to deliver consistent, robust and effective project/programme governance, control and reporting using the Enterprise Portfolio Management Tool.
Another key element to the role is the line management of the team of PMO Officers (c. 4-5 employees), working closely with them to ensure that a high quality service is provided to stakeholders. You will develop the team effectively, and ensure full utilisation and collaboration where appropriate. As part of a newly established team, you will proactively look for improvement opportunities and will enjoy working in an evolving and dynamic environment.
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate via their application (CV) and at assessment the following key skills and experience:
• Extensive P3M experience including a comprehensive knowledge of P3M processes, best practices, tools and techniques
• Experience of leading a team and applying policies where needed
• Experience of working in a major project/programme environment
• Ability to provide delivery support to multiple programmes/projects at one time
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, and stakeholder management skills
• Highly organised approach with the ability to work under pressure
• Experience of Project Management methodologies and tools e.g. Prince 2
• A working knowledge/experience of using Agile, along with knowledge of Planview would be an advantage
