Role Title: Powertrain Certification Engineer - Contract
Location: Hybrid/Crewe - 3-4 days per week
Overview/objective of the role:
To undertake Type Approval/Certification for Vehicle Range and Power, with regards to powertrain certification.
Responsible for ensuring delivery of Type Approval/Certification of systems and market specific data
Preferred industries and experience background:
Knowledge and experience of BEV powertrain systems and certification activities related to those systems.
Automotive experience specific to this is preferred, other closely related experience will be considered.
Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
Associate membership of a relevant professional institution preferable
Listed in priority order 'essential' skills required:
Ability to solve complex Engineering related problems. Analysis and management of several design related issues to identify the root cause.
Able to plan, monitor and expedite specified tests through liaison with OUR Group partners and external suppliers.
Compilation of relevant technical information and facilitating compliance for future and current projects.
Collect, manage, and analyse data to produce reports/presentations as appropriate and progress design guidelines. Deliver presentations at appropriate level.
An eye for detail and a structured approach to work.
Understand and maintain liaison with OUR group partners to keep up to date with latest group developments.
Able to ensure local Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure own safety and the safety of others.
List in Priority order 'preferred / ideal' skills:
Experience of Engine Power and Range testing.
Ability to solve problems.
Able to work effectively in the functional team. Support of own contribution in delivering team objectives.
Ability to communicate at various levels across the company in different forums.
Understanding of financial limits within area of responsibility.
Able to keep the local team up to date with technology in area of responsibility.
Capture learning from previous experience. Understand and maintain liaison with OUR group partners to keep up to date with latest group developments.
