We are currently looking for a Pottery Assistant with strong communication skills to join our team.

The Pottery Studio provides activities/sessions for both adults and children. In this role, you will be responsible for offering guidance and support on ceramic painting whilst providing a safe and efficient environment for our guests. Excellent customer service skills are required as you will ensure the guests' requirements are always met and naturally seek out opportunities to exceed their expectations.

The bustling environment requires sustainable energy and enthusiasm along with the ability to multitask and oversee busy activities. Other responsibilities will include ensuring high standards of cleanliness and tidiness are maintained and that the large volume of pots are glazed to agreed timescales.


You will be contracted to work 96 hours per 4 week period, on a flexible basis. This means that your hours and days of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period.

Your hours of work will fall between 9am and 7pm including weekends and some public / bank holidays on a rota basis.


Essential requirements:

  • Naturally cheerful disposition
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and guests
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • A creative flair

Desirable requirements:

  • Previous pottery experience with a working knowledge of current ceramic techniques
  • Experience of working within the customer care industry
  • The ability to teach methods and practices
  • To have a knowledge and understanding (including proper loading, unloading and operation) of kilns
  • Basic Food Hygiene certificate
