Applications are invited for the position of a Post doctoral research assistant (PDRA) at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

The position is available from October 2020.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has a burgeoning research portfolio. There is a strong interest in translational inter-disciplinary research. We have recently been awarded a 3-y full PDRA research grant from North West Cancer Research Fund (NWCRF). There is an initial probation period of 6 months.

We are seeking to appoint a research scientist with a strong track record in inter-disciplinary research biophysical methods such as IR/Raman spectroscopy, computational methods such as multivariate analysis and fundamental cell biology. The candidate will have previously shown themselves capable of ultimately establishing and leading a research programme.

One of the main functions of this post will be to set up a new research programme embedded within the new Lung Health Check Screening Programme, for which Blackpool is one of the selected pilot sites by NHS England.
The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic team working in state-of the-art research facilities.

A PhD in a relevant subject is required as is relevant research experience. Evidence of external esteem through high quality publications is also required. Motivated and enthusiastic, the successful applicant will possess good communication skills and have the ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
