Redmill Consulting’s client is an innovative accountancy firm looking for a Portfolio Manager to join their growing team, and play an integral role in delivering a first-class experience to their clients. You will be responsible for a mixed and varied portfolio of clients, primarily limited companies and charities. This role will give an aspiring or current portfolio manager the opportunity to work with key clients, and be instrumental in building and managing client relationships. There is an opportunity to support the growth of the business, so a self-starter with passion and drive will have autonomy to take this role further.


The role of Portfolio Manager will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:

•    Acting in an advisory capacity to assist Audit team and partners with technical queries, in relation to audit and complex accounting matters
•    Work with a key client portfolio and undertake/oversee Audits throughout year to include file reviews on site
•    Driving our client journey through continuous improvement methodology
•    Undertake file reviews and other review work as necessary to ensure the accuracy of completed work and assignments being provided to client
•    Arranging the finalisation of annual and periodic financial statements in consultation with assignment partner
•    Carry out ad-hoc tasks e.g. share valuation, financial projections, financial system reviews
•    Provide support and guidance to team in technical matters, including identifying training/coaching needs and facilitating training sessions
•    Create and implement training guides and review procedures to ensure all allocated work meets the agreed quality standard
•    Prepare technical guidance notes for the team and the partners to ensure the firm is compliant with current Accounting and Auditing Standards and other legislation
•    Support with planning and implementation of change within the department


For the role of Portfolio Manager you will be skilled and/or qualified in the following:

•    ACCA/ICAS/ICAEW qualified with relevant PQE
•    A similar role in a practice environment
•    Strong technical knowledge including FRS102, Auditing Standards and charity legislation
•    Regular exposure to key clients
•    Initiative - ability to overcome obstacles and provide workable solutions
•    Planning skills - ability to prioritise and manage conflicting deadlines
•    Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
•    Excellent client service skills
•    Commercial awareness
•    Demonstrates integrity and high level of professionalism
•    Collaboration – team player
