Policy officer - Fixed Term Contract (6 months)

Location: Home Based

Hours: 38 Hours PW

Salary:£26,872 PA

The role of our Policy Officer:

The role of our Policy Officer is to update & refresh policies and procedures in line with changes to legislation, Ambient values and to reflect best practise. This role is critical to ensure that Ambient's social care policies meet the legislative requirements and follow evidence-based practise.

Key Responsibilities of our Policy Officer:

* To review & update existing policies and procedures to ensure they reflect best practise, current legislation and reflect the use of Ambient's technology.

* Identify where there are gaps in policies and to draft new ones in line with relevant legislation and evidence-based practise.

* Work with Quality colleagues to ensure that existing policies reflect current practise within the use of Ambient technology

* Working with the team to identify and develop key policy areas

* Assembling, interpreting and analysing information from Ambient data bases

* Draft policies and procedures where there are existing gaps

* Ensure any new policy or procedure reflects current legislation and evidence-based practise

* Ensure any new policy reflects Ambient's practise and use of organisational technology Working with the Quality and Operational teams to ensure colleagues are contributing & feedback on policies

* Working with the Ambient Guardians to co-produce new policies where appropriate

* Work closely with the Quality team to ensure all policy work reflects Ambient values and existing practise with the technology in use

* Working with other colleagues from different departments, such as L&D and HR to ensure any cross over of policy reflects

* Providing regular updates to the Head of Quality and Operations Director

* Ensure Policies have a clear owner and are signed off as per Ambient procedure

Skills and attributes of our Policy Officer:

* Essential Educated to A Level Standard or above

* Experience of writing & reviewing policy

* Experience of working with diverse stakeholders

* Experience of working with teams and departments

* Experience of working in adult social care Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and to work to deadlines

* Effective motivational and engagement skills

* Effective verbal and written communication skills

* IT literacy and use of Microsoft Excel, Teams, Forms

* Ability to write clear concise policies and procedures

* Able to reflect, critically appraise own performance and use supervision as an effective tool

* Be flexible and self-motivated

* Knowledge of social care policies and initiatives
