Police Statement Takers needed

Are you a former Police Officer looking to re-enter a Constabulary? If so this could be the opportunity you have been looking for.

Working in the area of Hull as a Statement Taker, you will be asked to support Police Officers in the detection and prosecution of offenders by taking high quality witness statements. When taking these statements you will be expected to ensure that they fully satisfy the evidential and legal requirements of the Criminal Justice System.

Working on a Temporary basis, this opportunity offers a pay rate of £17.25ph (PAYE) £21.09ph (Umbrella). You will be asked to work Full Time with the core hours being Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm.

Your key responsibilities:

• Obtain high quality witness statements fully in accordance with the manual of guidance for the completion of crime files from persons initially identified by police supervision and the statement taker themselves where appropriate.
• Ensures statements are constructed in a manner dealing with the key legislation governing the recording of witness statements and in accordance with current guidance in the Manual of Guidance, statements to be taken from non vulnerable victims and non significant witnesses with accuracy and detail.
• Identifies to a Police Supervisor when a witness appears to be either significant or a vulnerable witness.
• Where necessary travels to locations to obtain evidence and preserve evidential integrity.
