About the role
The Programme Management Office (PMO) provides a reporting and governance structure for all projects contributing to the RPP programme.
As a PMO Project Support Officer, you will be involved in scope and business case management; programme and project planning including milestone management, risk and issue management.
The PMO Project Support Officer supports the head of PMO and Business Change and the PMO Manager in developing and implementing best practices to enable the successful delivery of a broad range of IT-enabled and business change projects to stakeholders across the business.

Since March 2012, Capita has been working with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) in a partnering arrangement with the armed forces to deliver recruitment services for the Army. The project represents a major investment in the transformation for military recruiting.
The contract covers the entire recruiting and selection process for both the Regular Army and the TA, and is helping transform the way the Army recruits its officers and soldiers.
What you will do:
Provision of day to day administration and maintenance to systems including: Risk and Issue Management, Document Control and Configuration Management, Quality Management, Project Planning, Resource Management and Time Management systems
Administration of the PMO support email accounts and online document repository
Maintenance and secure storage of electronic and paper file copies of approved documentation as appropriate
Responsibility for the maintenance of standards for project management deliverables
Assistance with the reporting of programme issues and risks, and the management of the relevant logs
Attendance at programme and project meetings and production of minutes from these meetings
Assistance in the production of management information reports
Provision of technical and logistical support to project managers
Provision of support to the PMO Manager in the day to day running of the PMO function
Other tasks may be assigned to the role over time based on business need and following consultation with the post holder
Your experience will include:
- PRINCE2 Foundation or Practitioner
- Knowledge of RAID management
- Highly proficient IT skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS project
- Strong and demonstrated ability to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Previous experience of working in a PMO is highly desirable
- Experience in resource planning is highly desirable
