A new interim opportunity has arisen for an experienced accountant to lead on the development and maintenance of PLICS, plus the completion of reference costing returns for an acute trust.
The post holder will also be leading on the costing and pricing of services, and will lead on the production and development of service line reports in conjunction with the information team. In the first instance, the most pressing matter will be the responsibility for delivery of the annual reference cost submission in accordance with NHS timetables. The post-holder will also be required to contribute specialist technical accounting and business knowledge, strong analytical skills, and effectively communicate complex finance issues to non-finance colleagues.
Ideally, you should be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, with exposure to costing work within an NHS environment. Owing to the deadlines involved it would be especially helpful if you can demonstrate having completed a trust’s reference costing return in the past. Strong Excel skills and the ability to manipulate large amounts of data will be important. In order to glean the correct information, liaison with a wide range of contacts will be necessary, so first rate communication skills will be crucial.
This position should offer an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to take a project through to its completion and will add weight to your CV in a busy environment.
