Meraki Talent’s Global Banking client is currently looking to hire several top tier Analysts into their Financial Crime Threat Mitigation (FCTM) Unit in Edinburgh. Our client is at the forefront of the Banking sector’s collaborative approach to detecting and preventing Financial Crime. Their innovative approach harnesses intelligence, analytics, technology, information sharing and public-private partnerships. The work undertaken within the Systems Delivery team ensures that essential systems and data are available to FCTM to undertake effective and efficient investigations.
As an Analyst within the System Delivery Team you will be responsible for the identification, analysis and implementation of requirements for new capabilities used by FCTM and for providing the tooling allowing users to assess and analyse financial crime risk utilising all of the firm’s datasets using Python, SAS, Hadoop, Matlab, R against a significant sized Hadoop cluster.
This role is a complex, challenging, fast-paced non-traditional Business Analyst role which requires a broad range of competencies and technical skills. To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate strong interviewing skills to probe information from stakeholders, be an effective networker both internally and externally and be comfortable working collaboratively across boundaries (cultures, geographies, teams). You will be comfortable using both technical and business knowledge to create solutions and will be able to get up to spend quickly on highly complex intelligence analytics tools.
To apply for this role you will have experience of a multi-user, large scale analytic platform either as a user or as a Platform Analyst. An understanding of Python, SAS, R, Matlab which is used for the data analysis and strong SQL skills are required. Whilst it is beneficial for someone to bring knowledge of the Banking sector and Financial Crime, my client is happy to hire those who can pick up the subject matter quickly.
