Our client is a UK leader in its chosen field and due to expansion now requires a Planning and Coordination Manager to work in its Birmingham based offices. You will be used to working in a fast paced business, used to complex systems and being involved in developing them, commercially aware and while a team player able to self-manage and manage others.
To ensure that designated products are available to the clients customers when required.
Forecast demand for each products.
Understand timing of the supply and distribution chain.
Place orders to ensure adequate but not excessive stock is available.
Coordinate deliveries from factories to ports with suppliers and logistics partners.
Establish and maintain online ordering system and integration to logistics partner’s systems and company accounts system.
Establish and maintain system to identify costs at all stages of manufacture and distribution process. Recommend prices to management.
Include in system facility for smaller / more urgent orders to have different cost to larger less frequent orders. System to produce picking and delivery notes to customers and invoices / feed to company account purchase.
Oversee logistics partner to ensure performance standards are met and charges are correct.
Report to management on orders placed, freight in transit and warehouse stock levels. Liaise with Insurers on same.
Forecast working capital and foreign exchange requirements.
Able to work under pressure.
Experience in procurement / logistics / distribution.
Retail or FMCG experience.
