The role will include capacity planning for medical device manufacturing Value Stream, interface with raw material suppliers and scheduling raw material orders to meet the needs of the capacity plan and end to end management of the plan and raw materials for Value stream assigned.
Location: Blackpool, Suitable for candidates in Preston, Blackburn, Southport, Morecambe, Lancaster or Lancashire in general.
Rate: 28 - 33 per hour
Duration: 12 months
Managing planning workbook in SAP (APO), creation/refresh of plan monthly to ensure plan aligned with refreshed customer demand
Monitoring over and under consumption and resetting plan as required. Challenge significant swings with Demand Team as appropriate
Prevention of customer service issues through effective management of plan and inventory
Managing global allocation process to ensure critical markets supply is maintained
Play lead role in the daily Ops meetings to ensure target are being met day to day. Challenge failure to hit plan.
Trending market forecast and intelligence ensuring alignment with capacity and deployment plans
Timely action of MRP messages to create POs for direct raw materials needed to support the site Manufacturing plan ensuring no stock outs
Liaising with the Stores function to ensure timely receipt of raw materials
Checks scheduled delivery dates and makes initial contact with suppliers on late deliveries.
Works daily with suppliers to build effective relationships to ensure stock outs/issues are proactively mitigated
Participates in new product launch meetings and assists in developing new product forecasts and production schedules.
Coordinates and follows up with production, warehouse, supply chain and others, as required, to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling and movement of materials and services.
Assures accuracy of database of suppliers of products used in manufacturing process.
Proven experience in either planning or buying - both functions preferred.
Experienced ERP / Planning Systems User
Working with spreadsheets/data analysis
Supply chain experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industry is desirable
Contract manufacturing experience
