"I saw the Functional Assessor job advert in a physiotherapy magazine. I was inspired to apply because I wanted to keep using my physio skills whilst doing something a little bit different. As a Functional Assessor it would enable me to take a step away from the 'hands-on' physiotherapy and develop skills in a new area. I also thought it would be a good opportunity to learn new things, it was the right time for me to do something fresh and I saw it as an opportunity for career progression.
Once you're working as a Functional Assessor there are a lot of paths ahead for career progression. I've done teaching in the past so may look at reopening this door at some point in the future. Moving into management is another option. Since working for CHDA I've been fully supported with ongoing training and help with Continuing Professional Development."
